A chisel is a tool used for machining such as cutting metal or breaking rock. Types include flat chisels, slot chisels, cutting chisels and point chisels. Materials include steel and special steel alloys. Flat chisels can break concrete and cut thin iron plates. Slot chisels are used for cutting and deburring bolts. Grinding the cutting edge allows them to be used repeatedly. Cutting chisels are used to split bricks and perform stripping work on blocks, etc. They are characterized by wide blades such as 75 mm and 90 mm. They can also be used as flat chisels.
