Paint rollers are tools used to paint a wide area of flat surface efficiently. Paint rollers consist of a roller frame and roller cover. The elements you should consider when choosing a paint roller are the width, core diameter and nap length. Width is indicated in inches, and wider products are more suitable for painting a wide area. Core diameters are normally available in 3 sizes: small, middle and regular. Nap lengths are either short or long. Short naps allow for a more beautiful finish whereas long naps enable painting uneven surfaces quickly. Materials used for paint rollers include acrylic, polyester, nylon and urethane. Each material differs in the type of paint it is suited to, so be sure to choose a product according to the application.
