Tapered Pipe Thread Gauge (NPT) (Part Numbers)
[Features]
· American standard (ANSI) pipe taper thread gauge used for inspecting pipe taper threads (NPT) for general components requiring sealing.
· These gauges come with various notching; however, the one most commonly used has notches in 3 locations: minimum position, reference position and maximum position.
· When a gauge is screwed in by hand to a pipe taper screw, if the pipe end is within the range of the maximum limit position and minimum limit position notch, it will pass.
· For NPT, the height of the ridge cutout for the screw outer and inner diameters are regulated; using an NPT plane taper gauge for this inspection is recommended.
· Dimensional inspection of outer or inner diameter can be easily performed by aligning the three notches on the taper thread gauge and the six notches on the plain taper gauge.
