Hydraulic cylinders can generate greater force with a smaller pump compared to pneumatic cylinders. The size of the whole engine can also be reduced compared to pneumatic types, with the mechanism itself also being simpler than pneumatic mechanisms; thus it is heavily utilized in the airplane and construction machinery industries.
