Tips

Soldering iron tips are replaceable parts that are mounted on the end section of a soldering iron. The soldering iron tip covers the ceramic heater of the main body and is used while the cylindrical cover is fixed with the cap nuts. Soldering iron tips of various shapes are available according to the target of soldering, classified according to factors such as base material and purpose. The most popular shape is a diagonally cut type consisting of a cylindrical rod that was cut diagonally, making it easy to control the size of the contact surface area. This type is known by various names according to the manufacturer, such as a conical type, straight-slot screwdriver type and knife type. Different thickness types are also available, enabling workers to select tools according to their own preferences and ease of use. The material is iron plating on copper that has good thermal conductivity, which is then further plated with solder or chrome to prevent oxidation and erosion.
