Specification Overview
Heater Selection
(1) Determine the required heater output (W).
You can calculate this using the following formula, based on the mass, specific heat, temperature rise of the object to be heated, and the heating time required to reach the set temperature.
Usage Method 1
Efficiency varies depending on insulation, heat retention, and heater installation conditions, making it difficult to calculate accurately, but generally a value of about 0.2 to 0.5 is recommended.
Usage Method 2

(2) Determine the number of heaters and the heat output (W) of each heater.
Decide the number of heaters based on the size of the object to be heated. The total heat output (W) is the amount of heat required by the object.
Example: Using two 550(W) heaters (total 1100W).
● Selection of cartridge heaters (P.2789 MCHK type)
(1) Determine the diameter and length of the heater            (2) Determine the voltage (V) to be used               (3) Determine the required heat output (W) for the object to be heated
Usage Method 3
(4) Confirm whether the product that meets the required heater diameter (D), length (L), voltage (V), and heat output (W) is available in the fixed L size/W (power) type (P.2789) or high-temperature type (P.2790).
Note: For the fixed L size/W (power) type, please select a product with a power (W) that is slightly higher than the required heat output (W).
Usage Method 4

● Measured heating time data by power classification

Product Features
1. 〖Exceptional Dry-Fire Resistance〗· Maximum temperature resistance of 871°C: Technical highlight: Uses high-temperature resistant materials and innovative packaging processes to improve stability and overload resistance at high temperatures, providing better protection against dry firing.
2. 〖Rapid Heating〗· Improved efficiency, reduced energy consumption: Technical highlight: Optimized heating wire structure design allows for higher power loads in a shorter time, thereby increasing heating efficiency.
3. 〖Rugged Structure〗· Fatigue-resistant, does not break: Technical highlight: Uses an internal wiring structure that hides the terminals inside the heating tube, effectively preventing terminal breakage and making it more suitable for applications involving movement or vibration.

Main Materials
Nickel-chromium heat-resistant alloy wire is wound around a ceramic core with excellent high-temperature properties, and insulated with magnesium oxide in a compression-type heater.
Product Features(1) Heat-resistant stainless steel armored tube (SUS310S) (2) Heating coil (nickel-chromium heat-resistant alloy wire)
(3) High-purity insulated magnesium powder (magnesium oxide) (4) High-purity magnesium oxide rod
(5) Pure nickel wire wrapped with mica fiber (heat resistant up to 300°C)
* The wire diameter depends on voltage and power, generally in the range of ⌀2 to 4
Recommended application scenarios:
High-temperature environmentsSemiconductors: diffusion furnaces, LPCVD tube furnaces, wafer reactors
Metal processing: high-temperature furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, brazing equipment
Medium-temperature environments3C industry: OLED curing, glass lamination, hot press welding, vacuum coating
Semiconductors: packaging and molding, baking equipment
Low-temperature upgrade service✳To address the need for improved efficiency of existing equipment in low-temperature environments, we offer convenient upgrade solutions.
No major modifications are required—equipment can be upgraded to the medium- and high-temperature series, significantly enhancing performance and value.
Usage Method
Installation method
●Please minimize the clearance of the mounting hole in the heated metal block as much as possible.
When machining the mounting hole in the metal block, it is recommended that the clearance on one side be less than 0.05.
*The degree of close contact between the heater and the heated object will affect the heater's lifespan. In addition, a large clearance will increase the heating time. Drilled holes can also be used, but it is recommended that all heater mounting holes be reamed. Heating time will increase, and the response speed of temperature control will become slower. The temperature of the heated object should be below 300°C .
*The service life of the heater can vary greatly depending on the operating environment. If the usage temperature or temperature control method is inappropriate, the heater may fail in a short period of time. Therefore, it is recommended to prepare spare cartridge heaters in advance.
Installation Method
Precautions
Precautions for Use
(1) Do not operate the heater dry in the open air. Otherwise, even if only part of the heater's heating section is exposed outside the heated object, abnormal heating may cause disconnection or fire.
(2) Avoid contact between the heater's lead wires and insulator parts with water or similar substances. Otherwise, it may cause electric leakage or short circuit.
(3) Be sure to remove any machining oil or grease used on the holes of the heated part. Otherwise, abnormal heating may occur due to carbonization.
(4) Extremely short ON-OFF cycles will adversely affect the lifespan of the heater. It is recommended to use a controller with PID control.
(5) The nickel rod at the base of the lead wire may break if bent repeatedly.
(6) Do not use a power supply with a voltage higher than the rated voltage (V).
(7) When removing the heater from the heated object, be sure to turn off the power first. Also, do not touch the heater immediately after turning off the power.
(8) The area near the wire outlet should be kept below 130°C.
(9) When using a heater with a flange, the area near the flange should be kept below 180°C.
(10) Cannot be used in a vacuum.
(11) The heater will expand when heating, which may cause the heating element to protrude from the mounting hole. It is recommended to secure it with screws or similar fasteners.
(12) Please select a voltage that matches the operating environment. Using a voltage that exceeds the rated value may damage the heater.
*Additional precautions for various cartridge heaters are listed on each product page. Please be sure to follow the above points as well and use the product correctly.

Overview of Heater and Temperature Control Related Components

■ Overview
· The commonly used specifications of Misumi heaters with high usage frequency have been standardized to meet users' needs for shorter delivery times.
· Temperature sensors, temperature controllers, and other components necessary for heater control can also be selected from the product catalog.

■ Basic Configuration (Example)
· As shown in the figure below, please use the heater in combination with a temperature sensor and a temperature controller.
Heater 1
· Temperature control process

■ Example of Heater Usage
(1) The temperature detected by the temperature sensor will be displayed as the current value (PV) on the temperature controller.
(2) As shown in the basic configuration example above, when the set temperature (SV) of the temperature controller is 80°C and the current value (PV) is 20°C, the temperature controller will apply voltage (ON) to heat the heater.
(3) If the voltage continues to be applied (ON), the temperature will exceed the set value (SV) of 80°C. Therefore, when the temperature rises to around the set value (SV) of 80°C, the temperature controller stops applying voltage (OFF).
