Points to note when making a selection

■ Precautions During Installation
If the shaft or bearing housing has poor accuracy, it will affect the bearing and prevent it from performing as it should. For example, poor accuracy at the bearing installation location can cause the inner and outer rings to become misaligned. At this time, in addition to the bearing load, additional edge stress concentration load (Edge Load) will be added, which will shorten the bearing's fatigue life. In more severe cases, it may also cause cage breakage, seizure, and other damage.

Please use the following dedicated installation tools for mounting and removal.
Bearing Heater
Bearing Heater
Proper installation of the bearing heater can ensure a long service life for the bearing.
If properly installed and maintained, rolling bearings are reliable mechanical components with a long service life.
After heating with an induction heater, the bearing expands outward in the cylindrical direction, which can prevent damage during installation. The induction heater is the most scientific heating method. It does not require preheating and can heat the bearing to 110°C within a few seconds or minutes depending on the bearing's weight, without damaging the pre-applied lubricant.

Bearing Puller
Bearing Puller
When the bearing is installed in any of the following conditions, a specialized puller can be used for removal.
(a) Shaft shape: cylindrical shaft; bearing inner ring bore shape: cylindrical bore.
(b) Shaft shape: cylindrical shaft, using an adapter sleeve; bearing inner ring bore shape: tapered bore.
(c) Shaft shape: stepped shaft; bearing inner ring bore shape: stepped bore. Regardless of the condition, when disassembling, you must loosen the lock nut (or adapter sleeve lock nut) on the shaft and set the lock nut to a loose state.

Frequently asked question (FAQ)

Question: What is the difference between ball bearings and roller bearings?
Answer: Ball bearings make point contact with the raceway, and the contact area becomes elliptical under load. Because it is point contact, the resistance is low, making ball bearings suitable for applications with low torque and high rotational speed. They also have the characteristic of low noise. Ball bearings have a lower load capacity but can withstand both radial and axial loads. Roller bearings make line contact with the raceway, and the contact area is rectangular under load. Because they have line contact, roller bearings have higher torque and greater rigidity than ball bearings. Roller bearings have a higher load capacity, and cylindrical roller bearings with flanges can withstand slight axial loads.
Question: How are bearings classified according to the shape of the rolling elements?
Answer: Rolling bearings are mainly classified by the shape of the rolling element into two categories: ball bearings and roller bearings. Among them, ball bearings are divided into: deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, and radial thrust ball bearings. Roller bearings are classified into: cylindrical roller bearings, needle roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, and self-aligning roller bearings.
Question: How are bearings classified according to the direction of the load?
Answer: Bearings are mainly classified by load direction into: radial bearings and thrust bearings. Among them, radial bearings are divided into: radial thrust ball bearings and radial roller bearings. Thrust bearings are divided into: thrust ball bearings and thrust roller bearings.
Question: What is the basic rated life of a rolling bearing?
Answer: The basic rated life of a rolling bearing refers to the total number of revolutions that 90% of a group of eleven ball bearings of the same type and specification can complete without flaking under identical conditions.
