Product Overview

Perfect Application of BGS Function
When passing different colored workpieces
Not affected by object color
Perfect Application of BGS Function
Even when changing products on a production line with different colored workpieces, no regulator adjustment is required.

Not affected by background color
Perfect Application of BGS Function

When detecting black and white
Detection is hardly affected by changes in the object's color. Both black and white objects can be detected at almost the same distance.
Perfect Application of BGS Function

⌀0.5 mm Spot Size
The spot diameter is only ⌀0.5 mm, making it suitable for long-distance detection of small objects, and it is not affected by background conditions.

High Precision
Small differential distance, capable of detecting minute step differences.

Wiring Method
Equipped with a 2-meter bend-resistant cable.

■Installation(1) About installation

(1) When sensors are installed facing each other, mutual interference may occur. Therefore, avoid aligning the optical axes of the sensors during installation.

(2) When setting up, please avoid allowing strong light such as sunlight, fluorescent lamps, or incandescent lamps to enter the sensor's detection angle.

(3) When installing the sensor, striking it with a hammer or similar tool may damage its waterproof function. Therefore, avoid hitting the sensor with a hammer or similar tool.

(4) When installing the main body, please use M3 screws. The tightening torque when installing the enclosure should be less than 0.5 N⋅m.

(2) About Installation Direction

(1) When installing, ensure that the sensor's detection surface is parallel to the detected object (do not tilt it relative to the object).

Mounting

However, when detecting glossy objects (shiny surfaces), as shown in the figure below, install the photoelectric switch at a 5 to 10 degree angle.

Mounting

(2) If there is a mirror-like surface below the sensor, light emitted from the detected object may be reflected by the mirror and return to the sensor, sometimes causing unstable operation. Therefore, as shown below, the sensor should be installed at an angle or at a certain distance from the surface.

Mounting

(3) Regarding the installation direction of the sensor, pay attention to the movement direction of the detected object. Install as shown in the figure below.

Mounting

Additionally, when there are extreme changes in the color or material of the detected object, install as shown in the figure below.

■User Guide(1) About Debugging and Usage

(1) Names and Functions of Each Component

Names and Functions of Each Component

(Note 1): Gradually and gently turn the distance adjustment regulator with a flathead screwdriver. To protect the regulator, it will idle when fully rotated. Please be aware. If the distance setting is invalid, please set it again.

(2) Distance Setting

a. Adjustment Notes and Instructions

Ⅰ. When using this product, please be sure to set the distance.

Ⅱ. Since the distance setting adjuster of this product is a multi-turn adjuster, when adjusting points A and B according to the table below, there may be more than one turn between points A and B. When setting the distance, do not mix up the number of turns on each adjuster. Set it to the midpoint between point A and point B.

b. Sensitivity Adjustment

Ⅰ. When detecting the movement direction of an object is to the left or right of the sensor

StepSensitivity AdjusterContents
Sensitivity AdjusterTurn the sensitivity adjuster fully counterclockwise to the minimum sensitivity position (MIN.).
Sensitivity AdjusterPlace the object to be detected at a certain distance from the sensor, then gradually rotate it clockwise to point A until the sensor switches to detection mode.
Sensitivity AdjusterRemove the object, rotate the distance setting adjuster clockwise, and after entering the detection state, rotate it counterclockwise until you find point B where the sensor switches to the non-detection state.
If the distance adjustment knob is turned fully clockwise and the sensor still does not enter the detection state, this position is called point B.
(Since the sensor is equipped with a multi-turn adjuster, there may be more than one turn between point A and point B.)
Best Position
Sensitivity Adjuster
The optimal position for stable object detection is the midpoint between A and B.

(Note 1): Please use a flathead screwdriver to gently and gradually turn the sensitivity adjuster. Excessive force may damage the adjuster.

Ⅱ. When the direction of the object's movement to be detected is the front-back direction of the sensor, only settings (1) and (2) above need to be made. In addition, the detection position may vary depending on the object being detected, so please be sure to confirm the operation with the actual object.

(2) About Optical Axis Adjustment
If the detection position or object changes, we recommend confirming the operation during trial adjustments. In addition, please also check for any influence from reflected light from surrounding objects.

a) Turn the sensitivity adjuster fully counterclockwise to the minimum sensitivity position (MIN).

b) With the target object present, slowly turn the sensitivity adjuster clockwise to find point A where the sensor enters the detection state.

c) Remove the object to be detected. While in the non-detection state (no object present), continue turning the sensitivity adjuster clockwise until the sensor enters the detection state, then turn it back until the sensor returns to the non-detection state at point B. (If the sensitivity adjuster is turned fully clockwise to the maximum and the sensor still does not enter the 'light received' inactive state, this position is point B.)

e) The optimal position for stable object detection is point C, which is between points A and B.

Precautions

Precautions

· Please make sure to perform wiring with the power turned off.

· Please ensure that the power supply voltage remains within the rated range.

· If the power supply is provided by a commercial switching regulator, please ensure that the power rack grounding terminal (F.G) is grounded.

· If devices that generate noise, such as switches, regulators, or engines, are used near this sensor.

· Be sure to ground the device's grounding terminal (F.G).

· Do not use within a short period (0.5s) after the power is turned on.

· Self-diagnosis output does not have short-circuit protection. Do not connect directly to a capacitor or capacitive load.

· Do not run the wiring together with high-voltage power lines or in the same conduit as power lines, as this may cause malfunction due to induction.

· Cables of 0.3 mm2 or less can be extended up to 100 m.

· Avoid dust, dirt, and steam.

· Do not allow the sensor to come into direct contact with water, oil, grease, or organic solvents such as thinner.
