Product Overview

Temperature Sensors
The thermocouple consists of two wires made of different materials, which are welded together at the end. After the ambient temperature of the unheated part is measured, the temperature of the heating point can be accurately known. Because it must have the conductor made of two different materials, it is called the thermocouple. The thermocouples made of different materials can be used in different temperature ranges, and their sensitivities are different from each other. The sensitivity of a thermocouple refers to the change in the output potential difference when the temperature of the heating point changes by 1°C. For most metal-supported thermocouples, this value is between 5-40 µV/°C.

PT100
PT100 is a platinum thermal resistance, and its resistance value is proportional to the change of temperature. 100 after PT means that its resistance value is 100 ohms at 0°C and about 138.5 ohms at 100°C.

The sheath type can be bent (minimum bending radius: sheath diameter × 5), but the part in the temperature detection range (20 mm of the front end) cannot be bent. The protective tube type cannot be bent, otherwise the temperature cannot be measured correctly.
To extend the thermocouple lead wire, please use the compensation lead wire.
Please strictly observe the heat resistant temperature of each part in product page. Please note that even the upper limit of the temperature measurement is very high, malfunctions such as wire breakage may occur if the heat-resistant is exceeded.
Do not apply large external force or vibration.
Please note the heat resistance temperature of the sleeve part.
The upper limit temperature measured is the value at the temperature measuring point (the front end of the sheath). During the actual measurement, please note that the temperature of the sleeve should not exceed the heat-resistant temperature (80°C). Otherwise, the cable make break due to thermal expansion in the sleeve.
 Especially when the temperature of the object heated exceeds 100℃, please try to select the specification with the long length L of the sheath, and try to keep the sleeve part away from the object heated.
Please keep the upper limit of the temperature below the temperature measurement range of the product. If the bushing temperature exceeds the heat-resistant temperature, it is very easy to cause the breakage of the measurement wire.
If the temperature of heat generating parts exceeds 100°C, please choose the specification with a front end as long as possible.

Usage Method

Thermocouples should not be installed too close to the heater, the installation depth should be at least 8 to 10 times the diameter of the sheath. The gap between the sheath and protection sheath and the mounting hole if not filled with insulation may cause overheating or cold air to enter the heating chamber. Therefore, this gap must be filled with insulating material such as insulating earth to stabilize the heat in the chamber. Air convection affects the accuracy of the heating process. The sleeve should not be installed too close to the heating chamber to avoid exceeding 100C. The installation of the thermocouple should be avoided as much as possible from strong magnetic and electric fields. Therefore, the thermocouple and power cable should not be installed close to each other to avoid errors caused by signal interference. Do not install the thermocouple with the low-flow measuring medium. When measuring the gas temperature inside the tube, the thermocouple needs to be installed in the opposite direction of circulation and in full contact with the gas.
