The positioning Locating Pins is used for the spatial positioning in the directions of X and Y axes, mainly using the workpiece hole as the positioning benchmark or used in conjunction with bushings, in which the straight rod cone head type is simple in shape, easy to install, widely used, and adopts materials with high hardness and difficult to break. Question: Will the positioning pin rust? If so, are there any measures to prevent?: Answer: Positioning pin products without surface treatment will rust. It is recommended to regularly apply antirust oil for maintenance or purchase positioning pins with surface treatment, which can prevent rust in normal atmospheric environments.
Question: Why does the positioning pin neck have a relief groove?: Answer: Because of high coaxiality, the neck also needs to be grinded. The neck grinding process requires a relief groove to ensure that the positioning pin does not produce R angle.
Question: Can shapes and sizes other than those listed in the catalog be customized?: Answer: Yes, they can be customized. However, please show the drawings when customizing and there are certain requirements on the quantity. Please consult cs@misumi.sh.cn for details
Question: Where are the positioning pins made?: Answer: In principle, they are made in China. Some products with high accuracy and complex surface treatment process are made in Japan.
Question: In which case there is no center hole?: Answer: Material is SUS304, and there is no center hole when it can meet the accuracy requirements in the milling state. Or when there is a large quantity in mass production.
Question: Why does the positioning pin have center hole?: Answer: The final machining stage is centerless grinding. There is a need for center hole positioning, so center hole is drilled for centerless grinding.
