Tension Springs/Configurable Length (Part Numbers)

Tension Springs/Configurable Length

Outer diameter size (Φ7, Φ11, Φ13, Φ15, Φ17) standard added!
A tension spring whose free length can be specified in units of 1 mm.
The outer diameter and length can be freely specified according to the intended use.
Piano wire is also based on the outer diameter.

[!] Maximum deflection factor is a numerical value for static loads.
When applying a dynamic load, use the maximum deflection factor × 0.65.

"!" Maximum deflection (mm) = S × maximum deflection factor (%) "!" Spring constant (N/mm) = reference spring constant × 10/S (reference value)

[ ! ] The maximum deflection is shown as % in the web standards table, while the figures in the catalog PDF are for an S dimension of 50.
Whichever value is used, the result of the calculation is the same.

[ ! ] The standard spring constant is for S dimension 10 in the web standards table and S dimension 50 in the catalog PDF.

·Calculate the maximum deflection and spring constant using the following formula.
·Max. Deflection·Spring Constant (reference value)
 Maximum deflection (mm) = S × maximum deflection factor (%) Spring constant (N/mm) = reference spring constant × 10/S

Example: Calculation of maximum deflection and spring constant of UFSP20-2.6-498
Max. Deflection (mm) = 498 × 58% = 288.84Spring constant (N/mm) = 20.50 × 10 498 = 0.41
